D2R Item prices make no sense
Item pricing don't seem to reflect the actual usefulness of the item. For example, a +2 sk FCR amulet or FCR ring is far more valuable with life + strength/dex over higher res.
To me, this makes no sense. Because for one, resistance prevents damage multiplier which makes extra 30~50 points into life completely pointless. So those prized items that are worth like 20 Bers don't make any utility sense, because why stack a little bit of extra HP over resistance? If you can stack your res to 200+ from just the gears you're wearing, you'd be set for PvM to have your inventory totally free for putting whatever you want in there, but more importantly, for PvP, you'd be far better protected against elemental casters. (With high-res gears, you can easily stack up to 300+ res without sacrificing your sk or max/ar/life GC). Whereas a little bit of HP without res would melt away along with the rest of your health whenever you cross an elemental caster, if you have poor res. (Not to mention those nasty wispy things in Throne that shoot massive lightning dmg) That's why the pricing in this game confuses me. I'd rather spend some money and buy cheap D2R Items on SSEGold. The most useful stats are considered "extra" while the lesser ones are prized as "godly". |
