Is it worth waiting for Diablo II: Resurrected to come out or should I get the origin

Diablo II with the Lord of Destruction expansion is (from what I heard) one of the best games ever made and I want to experience that. I'd not be surprised if D2:R "ruins" that for some people.

So I just got to know, what would be the suggested one for a newcomer to get? I already know about D2R Gold, LoL (granted, I've played some of Diablo 1 and Diablo III with my dad, but I haven't played Diablo II).
